The central nervous system for managing facilities’ energy use would be used to to display all Real-time updates of energy usage across all locations. Manage current power source, peak/average load demand, and cost. A decision-making tool which enabled active facility management by Bench marking energy costs, highlighting waste, and customizing dashboard data.
The solution would provide energy companies insight into key spendings by tracking financial information and consumption over time.
In order to get up to speed on business requirements and key dependencies associated with the project various gathering requirements were scheduled to define Use Cases in addition to scheduling Information Architecture sessions. We learned that one of the key goals for the project was to provide customers with easy navigation, simple, clear and minimal look and feel for the GUI and powerful key reporting abilities to manipulate data. Ideally, users would be able to view data in greater detail through interactive dashboards by mapping various components.
The solution was completed by integrating various technologies in order to provide best viable solution.
The main web application was developed using ASP.net MVC in conjunction with MSSQL 2012 database. Knockout was used in order to create rich, responsive display and in addition to a clean underlying data model. For multi device support Bootstrap was selected as the best choice to provide most accurate experience.
The user interface and the main GUI was built with the ability to filter, benchmark and project various data in order to monitor Real-time updates of energy usage across locations.
The Project demanded that assets and content be created in a very short time span with minimal rounds of changes to meet the master deadline. It was a tough and challenging project but in the end a victorious one.
