OneTraffic was in the process of developing an advanced traffic application. The company required experienced iOS and Android with help in the front-end domain. The application was envisioned to help people on the road commute from one place to another faster, easier, and safer. In the application, the communication is exchanged between all parties in traffic (gas stations, motels, hotels, service stations, etc), as well as with people directly and indirectly involved in the traffic and on roads (police, road works, road conditions, infrastructure, etc). The application combines all the important information for drivers and vehicles on registered routes and provides a safe communication between objects and people without disturbing others in traffic. OneTraffic sends alerts to drivers when an accident on roads/routes occurs and how long deadlocks and stoppages will last. The application offers optional routes for drivers requiring information with new route. It also provides real-time information about road congestions as well as police presence.
Solution.
Throughout the development process of the application, efficient communication with backend team was essential running Agile processes due to the various changes project went through requested by the client. Each of these changes required careful mitigation and project management practices. From the business standpoint, it was important to understand clients’ requirements based on users needs, as they were filled with innovation and new processes. The design of the application was done by the creative team, personas documentation and usability testing were performed from the user experience side. Testing was one of the most important parts of One Traffic development as it showed potential problems the application could run into, but also gave a lot of space for improvement of details that were not realized or mentioned in client’s initial requirements. The application showed some great potential and is looking to see its potential with the mass audience around the world.
